Cookieless analytics
Privacy & analytics notice
This is a community reference site about the proposed school bond. To understand which pages are useful, it uses two privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tools. This notice explains exactly what is measured, what is not, and how to opt out. The site does not run advertising trackers and does not sell any data.
No cookies, no personal profiles
Neither analytics tool stores cookies in your browser, and neither stores anything in your browser's local or session storage. No personal accounts, advertising identifiers, or cross-site tracking profiles are created. Measurement is aggregate — counts of page visits, not files about individual people. Because both tools are cookieless and store nothing on your device, this page is a clear notice rather than a cookie-consent prompt; there is no cookie for you to accept or reject.
The two tools we use
Plausible (self-hosted)
Plausible is a lightweight, open-source analytics tool that is cookieless by design: it sets no cookies and does not use persistent identifiers to follow visitors across sites or over time. It records aggregate measures only — which pages are viewed, the referring source (the site or search you arrived from), and general technical context such as browser, device type, operating system, and country/region. Your IP address is used momentarily to derive that country/region and is not stored.
PostHog (product analytics)
PostHog is configured on this site in a cookieless mode: it keeps its identifiers in memory for the current page view only, so it sets no cookies and writes nothing to local or session storage. On this site it captures two things: a page view (the page path you visited, including any query string) and a page-leave event (a signal that you navigated away, used to estimate time on page). Automatic click/keystroke capture and session recording are turned off. PostHog also honors the browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals — if your browser sends one, PostHog does not collect on this site.
Data categories collected
- Pages viewed (the URL path, including any query string)
- Referring source (the link or search that brought you here)
- Page-leave signals (used to estimate how long a page was open)
- General technical context (browser, device type, operating system, and country/region derived from — but not storing — your IP address)
The site does not ask for or collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or voter registration data.
Retention
Aggregate analytics data is retained by the operator of this site's analytics tools for trend analysis only. unconfirmed:the exact retention period on the self-hosted Plausible and PostHog instances is being confirmed with the site's operator and will be stated here once verified. No personal profiles are retained because none are created.
How to opt out
- Do Not Track / GPC:Enable “Do Not Track” or a Global Privacy Control signal in your browser or a privacy extension. PostHog on this site honors that signal and stops collecting.
- Content blocker: Any standard tracker or ad blocker will stop the analytics requests entirely, including Plausible. Because both tools are cookieless, there is no stored profile left behind either way.
Operator & questions
